About Me

I am Bennie L. Newsome of Birmingham, Alabama. I’m a stay-at-home dad who moonlights as an author, but I’m secretly a graphic designer. I’m also a personal chef who received his education from Food Network, I work part-time as a housekeeper, and I do a bit of insect extermination… for my home only. I’m forced to be a literary agent because I can’t find anyone else to do it, I’m an editor, proofreader, and copywriter. In my spare time, I review video games, books, and movies. Oh, I almost forgot, I act as a personal chauffer occasionally and I’m a bodyguard that’s on call all day, everyday.

Go get my novel, The BoogeyMann: written and cover illustrated by myself. But don’t tell anyone else I designed the cover because the fact that I’m a graphic designer is a secret. You can find it on Amazon.com in paperback and eBook format. I highly suggest you get yourself a paperback copy, but eBook will suffice. You probably won’t purchase either, but that doesn’t matter much to me. I already got a copy for my son, and he’s the fan that really matters. My young adult, romance novel, Life is no Fairytale, will be available September 2012 — eBook format only. My Christian novel, Agape, will also be available in September. Purchase the novels when they come out, or not. My son will have his own copies and that’s all that matters.

Alright, that’s enough of publicizing myself. I hate doing it, but someone has to do it. Let’s see… some more stuff about me. Well, I’m the oldest of three boys who grew up in a single mother home. I’m not married, but I’m working to rectify that. Not because of society’s expectations, but because I am in a relationship with a great woman and we create beautiful children — two very important factors. I have a bad case of road rage, I hate shopping in crowded stores, and I can’t swim, but I love getting in the pool.

That’s about all I care to say. You can find out more about my writing career over at www.bnewsome.yolasite.com, befriend me on Facebook — I’m Bennie L. Newsome, and you can find me on Twitter under @BLNewsome. I’m not a fan of Twitter, however, so don’t expect me to do much communication on there. And if you would like to hear more of my lunatic ravings, then visit my blog often.

Bennie – just to let you know, I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! 🙂

I am extremely flattered that you think enough of my ranting to nominate me for an award. I didn’t even know they gave out awards for blogging. I just started doing this because I have a bad case of writer’s block. 🙂

You are so welcome! I had no idea about it until someone posted a nomination on my page. I love your blog and your writing – as you know – and I had no hesitation about picking you! I have no idea what the whole thing really means, but there are details of what to do on the VBA blog on my page. Enjoy! 🙂

I’m glad you make time for me on twitter. Maybe one day I will cave into the whole Facebook thing…
You left one thing out on your bio…Your a great friend. Especially when I am E-mailing you with sneak peeks of my future works asking for an opinion. Not many people would take the time to do that. But you do. And that my friend means a lot to me. Thank you.

    R.D.

Yeah, I only visit Twitter because of friends like you. And you’re a better friend than I. Who else would selflessly promote other writers’ work. For your constant support, I thank you.

Hi Bennie. I’m back but incognito. You followed me before I disappeared. I may still be good enough to follow. 🙂
